Ever experience boundary-guilt?
Growing up, I was taught that boundaries were selfish. That having personal preferences(let alone expressing them) - also selfish. I was conditioned to feel guilt if I included myself in the equation. And I was programmed with a misguided definition of "good".
With that as my starting point, it's not surprising that I arrived to adulthood with enormous blindspots in my understanding of boundaries. I spent years studying boundaries (and adjacent tools & skills) to fill in the gaps in my understanding and shift towards healthy and aligned boundaries.
What motivated me to create this course was realizing that I am not the only one that didn't learn about healthy boundaries as a child. In my work at the Center for Remothering and at reMothering.org, I talk to so many folks who wrestle with the same challenges I had faced. And, because boundaries are the edges between us and other people, when we learn to create healthy and aligned boundaries for ourselves, in addition to improving our own quality of life, it has a huge impact on the lives of the people we love most in this world.
I've consolidated my years of boundary-education, and integrated my hard-earned lessons from overcoming my many boundary blindspots. And that's what I'll be teaching in this Empowered Boundaries Course.
